About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and curious PHP Laravel Intern to join our development team. This internship is designed for students or fresh graduates who are passionate about backend web development and excited about the evolving landscape of AI-assisted development. You will work alongside experienced developers, contribute to real projects, and gain hands-on exposure to modern development workflows — including leveraging AI tools and models to accelerate your productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining web applications using PHP and the Laravel Framework
• Support the team in building and testing RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
• Work on MySQL database design, queries, and basic optimizations
• Implement features related to authentication, forms, and CRUD operations
• Write clean, readable, and documented code following team standards
• Integrate third-party APIs and services under supervision
• Use AI prompting tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to assist in code generation, debugging, and documentation
• Participate in code reviews, team stand-ups, and technical discussions
• Learn and apply Git version control practices in a collaborative environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of PHP and Laravel (or willingness to learn quickly)
• Familiarity with MySQL / MariaDB and writing basic queries
• Understanding of MVC architecture concepts
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with Git (GitHub / Bitbucket) for version control
• Exposure to REST APIs and JSON data formats

🤖 AI Prompting & Model Knowledge — Required

• Ability to write clear and effective prompts to generate code, fix bugs, and create documentation using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot
• Basic understanding of how large language models (LLMs) work — including concepts like context windows, temperature, system prompts, and model capabilities
• Experience using AI-assisted development in personal or academic projects is a strong plus
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated output for correctness, security, and quality

🔗 MCP (Model Context Protocol) Knowledge — Added Advantage

• Awareness of what MCP (Model Context Protocol) is and how it enables AI models to connect with external tools and data sources
• Basic understanding of how MCP servers and clients work together to extend AI capabilities
• Exposure to building or using MCP-compatible integrations (e.g., connecting Claude or other models to APIs, databases, or development tools) is highly valued

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Exposure to React.js or Vue.js for frontend understanding
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap
• Knowledge of Agile / Scrum workflows
• Interest in SaaS or multi-tenant application architectures
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or DigitalOcean
• Basic understanding of server environments (Apache / Nginx)

Eligibility & Experience

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• 0 – 1 year of experience in PHP / Laravel (academic projects and self-built projects are welcome)
• Strong eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow in a fast-paced environment
